JOB SUMMARY: Nurses screen and administer vaccine at immunization clinics and enter and maintain accurate records in program computer system. Travel to assigned clinics and assist with loading/unloading/setting up and taking down equipment. The Nurse is also responsible for nutrition education and basic medical screening. Duties include certifying participants according to established program guidelines. Perform hemoglobin checks. Handling and disposing of bio-hazard sharp containers. Provide breast feeding education and support to new mothers. Assist clients with making appointments and updating client records as needed. Also assist with ordering and monitoring vaccine on hand. Receive Department of Immunization Training and/or WIC training as required. Refer participants to other resources as needed or requested. Cleaning of clinic and office site/lifting up to and including 50 pounds. Maintain confidentiality of all participant/client information and follow Program and Agency standards and policies.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: RN or LPN credentials from an accredited school. Nebraska LPN or RN License in good standing. Six months to one-year related experience. Basic computer skills in word processing, email, and internet.
WAGE & BENEFITS: The starting wage for a RN is $25.00 per hour, plus benefits. The starting wage for a LPN is $21.00 per hour, plus benefits.
