ABOUT US:
Northeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership (NENCAP), INC is a private, nonprofit corporation. NENCAP serves an income-eligible population in a 14-county area of Northeast Nebraska with programs such as Head Start, Early Head Start, WIC/Immunizations, Healthy Families, Weatherization, and Family Services, free tax preparation, car seat programs, Veteran Services, Commodity Supplemental Food Program, and food pantries.

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Wellness & Safety Coordinator will provide training to staff on program procedures and safety practices to ensure compliance.
  • Complete vision and hearing screenings as needed.
  • Oversee the compliance of health services by ensuring requirements are met. This includes analyzing, entering, and monitoring health data and ensuring individual health plans are in place and implemented.
  • Coordinate Mental Health & Health Advisory committee and provide information and training as needed.
  • Attend and contribute to monthly Early Childhood Leadership meetings and provide and participate in on-site and program training.
  • Maintain relationships and collaborate with the medical and dental communities and other community health agencies and partners.
  • Coordinate with the Agency contracted nurse to schedule health procedures as needed.
  • Complete Kitchen inspections and Playground Safety inspections at each site annually.
  • Track and schedule CPR/Safe With You trainings as required by Early Childhood staff.
  • Work with and be a part of the agency’s Safety Committee to complete yearly safety inspections and ensure safe work environments are being met.
  • Frequent kneeling, stooping, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds. Have basic computer skills.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus!
  • Maintain confidentiality of program participants and follow Program and Agency standards and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

A bachelor’s or advanced degree in health, family and/or child services or related degree with experience is required. 1-year relevant experience.

  • Must be or have the ability to become a First Aid/CPR trainer & Safe with You trainer.

WAGE & BENEFITS:

The starting wage is $22.00 per hour, plus benefits. Wage may increase with education and experience.
