Healthy Families – Family Engagement Advocate (Pender Location)

Northeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership’s HEALTH SERVICES PROGRAM is looking for a Healthy Families FAMILY ENGAGEMENT ADVOCATE. Our central office located in Pender, NE is the main work location with opportunities to work with clients in our Dakota, Thurston, and Dodge counties and Tribal entities. 40 hours per week M-F. Hourly wage plus benefits. The Family Engagement Advocate will accept and provide referrals and advocate for the program by communicating program purpose, benefit and process. Will also conduct outreach to clinics, schools, medical professionals, business, media and other community organizations. Outreach and recruitment, family services or human services counseling, and knowledge of infant and child development preferred. JOB SUMMARY:

The Family Engagement Advocate will initiate contact with potential families and explain the Healthy Families program and its benefits along with compiling and keeping track of client information. They will establish trusting relationship with families and explain the importance of prenatal and other health education. Orient prospective families for the purpose of establishing familiarity with the Healthy Families program. Provide media outreach, marketing, educational sessions and public speaking. Responsible for locating educational information, including bilingual information when necessary, and develop and complete outreach activities. Develop and update appropriate forms and brochures and complete required reports and assist with grants. Attend training as required including Gap Training for Healthy Families America Core Training and Growing Great Kids curriculum training. Provide program director with weekly activity summary and schedule. Loading and unpacking supplies and files, approximately 50 pounds.  Maintain confidentiality of all participant client information and follow Program and Agency standards, policies and procedures.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience in human services, home visits, or skills in early childhood development or early childhood mental health. Experience with outreach, case management and/or public health education is preferred.
